Hi,

Package Deployment in D365 AX.

Create Deployable Package – Reference

Step 1: Before creating Deployment Package Do Full Build if necessary.


Dynamics 365 à Build Models à Full Build (Select all). àBuild

OR Else select models which you did modifications or customization.

Step 2: Go to Dynamics 365 à Deploy à Create Deployment Package


Step 3: Select Only models which you modified. i.e.  Select the packages that contain your models, and then select a location in which to create the deployable package.



Deployable package will be created at chosen location.



Apply a deployable package

It can be done in two ways.

     1.  LCS (Automatic)       Reference   Reference

    2.    Command Prompt  (Manual)   Reference  Reference

Below is steps for LCS (Auto)


Step 1: Login to LCS – Go to Asset Library 


Step 2: Select Software Depolyable Package àClick On Plus Sign +
Upload a Software Deploable Package as below



Step 3: Once File Uploaded Go to UAT or Any Environment


Package application causes system downtime. All relevant services will be stopped, and you won't be able to use your environments while the package is being applied. You should plan accordingly.



Then Go to Maintain à Select Apply updates



Select Software Package which is uploaded


Step 4: Refresh and check the Servicing Status if Status is completed then check the changes in UAT 



Step 5: Select Sign Off Option if all changes are appearing in UAT Or select Close with Issues if it’s not appearing and it will prompt you for Release candidate for Production deployment. I.e. is this package is suitable for release in production deployment.



Deploy code to production. -- Reference

Microsoft Service engineers does production deployment.

Select Deployment Package and Schedule Appointment.

Select Production Environment à Select Maintain à Apply Updates à Select a package to release to production
è  Schedule Deployment time à Submit Request.

You can reschedule deployment time, Change Package and Cancel deployment before deployment starts by Microsoft Service engineers.
