Issue: Counting Journal is locked by system in Dynamics 365
Other Scenarios
1. From the BLOCKING tab:
Contact the user that is noted in the USED BY USER field to ensure that they are not in the journal.
NOTE: If the lock is valid, the user will be forced out of the application and potentially lose work that is not saved.
Issue: Counting Journal is locked by system in Dynamics 365
Solution: Go to Stock Management àJournal Entries à Item Counting à Counting (1)
Search
for locked journal (2) à Click on Header (3) à Click on Blocking Tab à Make No on Locked by system (4). This will unlock the journal for further
postings.

On Inventory and warehouse management parameters form there is an option called Lock items during count under General tab
3. Unlocking the item from counting
Go to the item record, select the setup button and item warehouse, go to the general tab and remove the counting started flag.
If you do this and there is a journal it will allow you to create another journal and double enter differences.
